Leonardo Borsacchi

Leonardo is a researcher and the Coordinator of Circular Innovation & Sustainable Commodities Unit at ARCO. Senior expert on the topic of Circular Economy: policies at city level, sustainable reuse of buildings and spaces, water reuse.

With more than 15 years of experience in research and consulting, both in Italy and abroad, his accademic research focuses on integrated management systems, with special emphasis on quality, hygiene, and environmental and social responsibility.  Expert of process and product certifications, especially food and textile supply chains. During his career, Leonardo performed field missions, among others, in Armenia and Middle-East countries.

Main topics on commodities: Design and implementation of strategies pertaining to the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of supply chains; needs analysis; life-cycle assessments; implementation of international certification schemes along the chain; valorisation of cultural and agro-food heritage and tourism at the local level.

Adjunct professor in Sustainability of Supply Chains in the School of Economics and Management at the University of Florence and adjunct professor in Cultural Food at the University of New Haven.
